Let me find you

Let me find you as I walk on this journey

A journey that I am unsure of its purpose

Let me find you

But not in the arrogant way that Robert Frost

enlightenedly chose that less travel road

Let me find you in the happenstance

    of my sauntering and seeking

Let me find you in the way the sunlight glints and dances

    with the morning dew

refracting light in a spectacle of brilliance

Let me find you in a moment of anticipation

as a child with her hands cupped together

    holding them to her chest

    peeking between her soiled fingers

and discovers in her crinkled palm

    a firefly

    illuminating her with momentary wonder

Let me find you in the deliberateness of my steps

amongst tree roots that twist and turn and turn and twist

    with intention

with the intention to ground their larger selves

in something larger than theirselves

so that they can reach toward sky

for the greatness of their dreams

and cry out “hallelujah”
